Where can I find your series on the Intuitive Eating principles?
If you’ve been following me for a while, you will remember that just before the summer, I finished a series of posts on the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating (one post per principle) and now I’ve made it easier for you to find them by putting all the links to each of the posts in one place so you can refer back to them more easily when you need to!
And if you’re new to my blog, I’m really excited you are here and reading them for the first time!
Here they are, in order:
What does reject the diet mentality mean?
Challenge your inner food critic
Discover the satisfaction factor
Cope with your emotions with kindness
Movement – feel the difference
Each of the 10 principles help improve interoceptive awareness by either increasing sensitivity to biological cues or removing obstacles to noticing those cues. Interoceptive awareness is the ability to tune into the physical and emotional cues our body is trying to send us at any given moment in time. It allows us to know when we’re cold, when we’re tired and need to sleep or rest, when we need to go to the bathroom. With consistent practice over time and once we’ve stopped dieting and restricting our food intake, we can also tune into other physical sensations arising from our body including hunger and fullness, and also the physical sensations that accompany any emotions we might be feeling.
